The sequence
The four steps, in detail.
Record
Start recording at the beginning of the meeting, with the client's knowledge. Pleadwell doesn't join as a bot or a third participant, there's nothing in the meeting except you, your client, and your own device recording.
The recording is kept in your browser's local storage. It stays there until you delete it yourself.
Transcribe Live
Your audio is streamed over an encrypted connection to a speech-to-text service in Sydney as you speak, which returns the words in real time, with a list of Australian legal terms so words like affidavit and caveat come through correctly. The service doesn't store the audio once transcription is done, and receives it only to produce your transcript.
Only the transcript text is kept, in your matter record. If your connection drops mid-meeting, the recording itself is unaffected, it's still in your browser and can be re-transcribed on your own computer.
Generate US-based AI
Once transcription finishes, the transcript text, never the audio, is sent from our servers in Sydney over an encrypted connection to a US-based AI provider, with a prompt built for legal drafting. The provider doesn't use it to train AI models. It comes back with four drafts: a file note, a follow-up email, an action list, and a billing entry.
This is the only step in the whole sequence where anything leaves Australia, and it's text only. Full detail is on the security page.
Review and export You
Every draft opens for you to read and edit before anything happens to it. Nothing is auto-sent, auto-filed, or auto-posted to a ledger.
Once you're happy with it, export to PDF, copy into an email, or export a CSV to import into your practice management software.
